Quality Manager

About the role:

Gyron is a rapidly growing part of NTT, the world’s largest telecommunications service provider, and provides highly resilient and energy efficient datacentre services, supporting business critical IT applications for customers such as Adobe, Salesforce, Sky, Sony and IBM, from five state-of-the-art datacentre facilities in the South East of England.

It is also currently in the process of integrating its business operations with its sister company e-shelter GmBh, to form a pan-European Data Centre platform able to capture the market opportunity for continued business growth in this sector.

Assisting the Operations Director, you will be responsible for both current and future ISO’s certifications, GDPR conformity, processes, procedures, and document control. You will also be responsible for the effective planning, monitoring and management of the departments activities and obligations to support the business requirements and obligations. You will be responsible for ensuring the same standards are implemented across the business.

 

Specifically, you will:

  • Aid the Directors in adopting and maintaining ISO, GDPR and other relevant certifications and obligations
  • Manage the day to day operation of the Quality Department
  • Have the responsibility and authority to ensure that processes needed for the ISO management system and GDPR are established, implemented and maintained
  • Report and present to the Directors on the performance of the ISO management system, GDPR and any need for improvement
  • Ensure ISO and GDPR awareness is promoted through training and awareness initiatives
  • Ensure policies and procedures are monitored, reviewed and updated.
  • Monitor the performance of company compliance, and undertake internal audits to ensure process and procedures and standards are complied with
  • Working very closely with the Health & Safety Manager, ensure H&S processes and procedures are implemented and standardised across all sites.
  • Work closely with our sister company in Europe to ensure application and implementation of relevant standards, processes and procedures are consistent.
  • Lead internal and external audits from a quality perspective.
  • Manage and work with international governing bodies, external consultants and auditors
  • Any other duties deemed necessary for the smooth running of the Company.

 

Required experience:

  • Excellent working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, including ESOS and all relevant legislation and standards. Note this does not necessarily mean you will be an expert in all these standards, but you will have the relevant knowledge and experience to build and maintain quality systems and ensure relevant accreditations are maintained and achieved when necessary.
  • A minimum of 3 years in Quality Management covering ISO and other relevant standards
  • Experience of impact registers, risk identification and mitigation controls
  • Demonstrable competence in undertaking audits, risk assessments, process and procedures
  • Proven ability to develop internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Staff management and development to deliver in line with business requirements, goals and targets.  Be able to motivate and develop a team to enable a high performing team and department

  • Highly competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) and related tools such as SharePoint
  • Good numerical and literacy skills and high levels of computer literacy
  • To be able to work using your own initiative – developing and implementing detailed approaches that win support, based on high-level input. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and possess and the ability to build and maintain good working relationships and communicate effectively at all levels and across multiple sites
  • Good personal organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, be pro-active and work on own initiative
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills – able to establish and develop productive working relationships internally and externally at all levels. 
  • Willing to undertake occasional travel to sister company locations if required
  • To possess a full clean UK driving licence
  • To undergo full security checks to BS7858:2012
