General Maintenance Engineer

Gyron is a rapidly growing part of NTT, the world’s largest telecommunications service provider, operating highly resilient and energy efficient Data Centres and efficient data centre services, supporting business critical IT applications for some of the world’s biggest and most innovative Cloud Hosting and SaaS Service providers.  Gyron currently owns and operates five state-of-the-art datacentre facilities in the South East of England, with plans to expand its data centre portfolio in the short term.

It is also currently in the process of integrating its business operations with its sister company e-shelter GmBh, to form a pan-European Data Centre platform able to capture the market opportunity for continued business growth in this sector.


About the role:

Based at our Campus facility you will be responsible for the upkeep of the datacentre facility by performing general maintenance duties.

Specifically, you will:

  •       Review and update works tickets
  •       Carry out general painting duties       
  •       Adjust and repair doors/locks as required
  •       Carry out re-lamping as required
  •       Performing general repairs to building fabric and site       
  •       Assist with general cleaning duties when required
  •       Responsible for ensuring grounds maintenance is kept to the required standard
  •       Forklift duties as required including being responsible for monthly vehicle checks
  •       Escorting contractors on site for GM required tasks
  •       First response for blockages (toilets, taps and sinks)
  •       Transporting equipment between sites
  •       Actively support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Any other duties relevant to the role and to ensure the smooth running of the company 

Required Experience:

  • Good all-round tradesman skills
  • Experience of working in a customer facing company
