Security Manager

Gyron is a rapidly growing part of NTT, the world’s largest telecommunications service provider, and provides highly resilient and energy efficient datacentre services, supporting business critical IT applications for customers, from five state-of-the-art data centre facilities in the South East of England.

Based at our facilities in Slough you will be responsible for managing the 24/7 security team and the physical security of the Datacentre facilities, ensuring operational performance is maintained at all times and to the highest possible standards. 

 

Specifically, you will support the Datacentre Managers in the smooth running of the Security Department.

 

Day to day tasks may include:

 

  • Being responsible for the physical security of the datacentre facility
  • Providing leadership and motivation to a team of security professionals
  • Working closely with your peers to ensure consistent standards are implemented and adhered to across all facilities
  • Understanding threats, vulnerabilities and specific risks related to the effective control of the systems and infrastructure
  • Ensuring that payroll information is prepared accurately and submitted on time each month
  • Developing and implementing security policies and procedures across the business
  • Maintaining staff rotas, which will include ensuring cover is in place for holidays and sickness
  • Managing the sites security teams training matrix and be responsible for its implementation
  • Ensuring staff are trained and following the site’s Emergency Operations Procedures and Standard Operations Procedures
  • Conducting thorough investigations when a security incident occurs, and make recommendations where necessary
  • Ensuring Health & Safety rules are adhered to by staff, clients, contractors and visitors
  • Providing accurate and timely reports for customer enquiries, ISO Audits and other inspections
  • Actively support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • To be highly competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) and related tools such as SharePoint
  • Good numerical and literacy skills
  • Be pro-active, responsive and able to prioritise and deal with evolving needs, working at pace to very high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative – developing and implementing detailed approaches that win support, based on high-level output
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Good analytical/ problem solving skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with good relationship building skills
  • To be self-motivated and keen to develop, with a willingness and desire to learn
  • To be keen to share knowledge with colleagues
  • To possess initiative with an inquisitive nature, unafraid to ask appropriate questions
  • To possess a clean driving license valid for use in the UK
  • Hold a valid SIA Licence
  • To undergo full security checks to BS7858:2012
