Internal IT Systems Support Engineer

About the Role:
Gyron is a rapidly growing part of NTT, the world’s largest telecommunications service provider, and provides highly resilient and energy efficient datacentre services, supporting business critical IT applications for customers such as Adobe, Salesforce, Sky, Sony, Spotify and IBM, from five state-of-the-art datacentre facilities in the South East of England.

You will assist the Network and Infrastructure Manager with the day to day running of Gyron’s systems, servers, desktops, and 3rd party integrations.
Specifically, you will:

  • Assist with installation, documentation and maintenance of Gyron network/server infrastructure including:
    • Windows servers (AD/Exchange/ADFS/CCTV/Application)
    • Linux servers
    • Office 365, Azure AD
    • VMWare vSphere, Dell Servers, Equallogic SAN
    • Windows PCs (PXE, MSDT, WDS, ESET AV, Group Policy, etc)
    • the Gyron phone system
    • access control (Net2/LG IRIS/Milestone CCTV)
    • backups/DR for important servers and systems
    • internal switches / routers / firewalls where appropriate
    • monitoring systems (Opsview/Cacti/Zabbix/SNMP)
    • Single-Sign-On with 3rd party services.
  • Assist with cabling works within the offices and datacentres
  • Any other duties relevant to the position and the running of the company. We are a small team maintaining a large infrastructure.


Required experience:

  • Experience and a good working knowledge of Windows Networks:
    • Active Directory support, setup and administration (users, security groups, etc)
    • Group Policy
    • User and security group administration
    • Powershell
    • PXE/WDS/MSDT automated installation services
    • MSI Software deployment
    • Windows Server Technologies - DHCP, DNS, WSUS, MSDT, WDS, ADFS/SSO - etc.
  • Azure AD/Office365/Microsoft Exchange 2013 – Hybrid deployment - both server and client side.
    • Server side – hybrid, Exchange Management, mailboxes, 
    • Client side - Troubleshooting Outlook client, network issues, profile issues, pst & ost files, etc.
  • Microsoft Desktop platforms – Windows 10, Microsoft Office Applications, 3rd party software
  • Dell PCs & servers, Apple Laptops,
  • Networking, switches (HP, Juniper), Routers, Firewall, TCP/IP. OSI Model, vlans, etc.
  • Monitoring - Nagios/Opsview
  • VMware ESXi, SANs
  • Linux (CentOS/Ubuntu) – server admin – Apache/NGINX/SSH/PowerDNS/etc
  • Cisco IP Phones / SIP / Asterisk


About you:
